We are experienced in the delivery of R&D and Manufacturing projects, developing dispersions and ink formulations to deliver outstanding results on a range of difficult substrates.
Projects are managed and progress reviewed regularly via email, phone or video conference.
Contract R&D
We provide technical services to new and existing inkjet companies and integrators, to help you solve any technical issues. We can provide development projects that are tailored to your particular needs and address any specific or unique requirements that you may have.
Projects can also involve visits to customer sites, worldwide, so we have a deeper understanding of your needs and can offer any guidance or training directly to your staff.
Scale Up and Manufacturing
We offer advice and support to customers to help them develop their own manufacturing capabilities.
We also have access to a broad range of Industrial and Academic partners and collaborators, helping us cater to a diverse variety of customer needs, including Scale Up, supply of laboratory equipment or Toll Manufacturing services.

Dr Chris Nicholas
Director
Chris graduated from the University of Manchester with a BSc (Hons) degree in Chemistry, a MSc in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Lancaster and then returned to Manchester to complete his PhD in Solid State Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium Batteries. He is the Founder and MD of Smart Chemistry Ltd
Dr James Nicholas
Postdoctoral Chemist
James graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA (Hons) specialising in Natural Sciences, and an MSc (by research) in Chemistry from the University of York. He then completed his doctoral studies at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
Dr Thomas Nicholas
Postdoctoral Chemist
Thomas graduated from the University of Oxford with an MChem in Chemistry, and he completed his doctoral studies at Oxford. He is investigating the atomistic structure of complex framework materials using a combined experimental and computational approach. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Gent, Belgium.
